I wasnt stating no MOT = no insurance
It can easily be argued by the insurers that it hasnt been tested and it makes it much easier for them to argue your vehicle isnt road worthy.
To be honest, you even get a reminder sticker now so there isnt really any excuse!0 -

Why would it be, since it didn't happen?Iamthesmartestmanalive wrote: »Going out and getting the car mot'd and then trying to pull the wool over there eyes re the status at the time of the offence is just that
I can't see any attempt to pull any wool over any eyes. The OP got it MOTd, and took the MOT to the police station, where it was noted that it was not current at the time of the offence. If the OP had, for example, tried to alter the date on the certificate, then that would be perverting the course of justice.

Hey guys,
Just to say, i really did'nt try to "pull the wool"over their eyes, it was an honest mistake, i am the first to admit, that it is my fault for not keeping up with the mot,i really could'nt find the first one at the start, i thought, well, i 've got car tax, so i must have my mot, i was thinking, if they really needed the original, i could have phoned my garage, but after the policeman said that he needed the old one, i turned my house upside down to find it,but.......anyway, thanks for everyones advice...i will let you know how i get on.

Just wanted to confirm that no MOT does NOT invalidate insurance. I had a crash the day after my MOT had lapsed (hows yer luck) and had a full payout from insurers.
Didn't stop me from having a week of sleepless nights though - I know your situation is different, Malima, but please try not to worry.0 -
Thank you - this thread has just inspired me to take out my diary, turn to the first week of August and write MUST BOOK MOT in big letters!!0
