Sorry a few questions before I get on the blower ....- So they basically offered you this deal to an existing customer with existing credit limit?
- Do you have a "one card" out of promotional periods or is it an old bank of scotand credt card?
- Did they say anything about that come into the conversation and if so did they refer to their policy on this for all custoemrs.
- Do they run another credit check on you as an existing customer?
I know I am not X1000 but you can upgrade to the One card from an existing card providing your existing credit card is in good standing. You cannot change over from an existing One Card. They transfer all your credit limit over. Make sure you pay off the balance on your existing Halifax of BOS card though otherwise interest is charged at the go to rate which is anything from 12.9% to 19.9%. No credit check done when I changed over.0 -
I have three Halifax cards, an original Halifax Classic Visa, a Halifax Cashback Mastercard and a Halifax One Visa card none of which have any balances.
Would I be able to upgrade one of these to the current 12 month 0% One card deal? Two Ways to Live

I too have a halifax classic with zero bal. I called them yesterday to ask if I could upgrade and they said the deal was available to me. I.E. I can ugrade my classic to the one card and will get the 12 month 0% balance trans and purchases deal. They also said I could keep my current 10K limit.
Any balance on your current card will transfer across at 13.9%.
They are sending out new T&C's for me to sign and return then they will send new card.
So I suggest you give them a call and see if they can do the same for you. Will try and find the number I called yesterday for you.0 -
I had a halifax classic coming to the end of 0% and phoned them (08003893456- may have changed by now?). The lady there and then did a 0% balance transfer for another 6 months to a Halifax one card. May not still happen but worth a phone call!

Do they only do the Halifax One as a Visa card now?
I only ask because the credit limit on my Halifax Cashback Mastercard is 50% more than that on my Halifax Classic Visa and so I would prefer to upgrade my Mastercard. Two Ways to Live

You should be able to upgrade your Mastercard but the Halifax One card is a Visa card only so you will have 2 Visa's.0 -

The BIG question is whether they will allow a transfer from the new IF credit card to a One card when the former start to run out of their 9 month interest-free periods.....Ethical moneysaver0

Unlikely, they do not allow transfers from any other Halifax or Bank of Scotland card and I am pretty certain they would count an IF card as a Halifax card.realaledrinker wrote:The BIG question is whether they will allow a transfer from the new IF credit card to a One card when the former start to run out of their 9 month interest-free periods.....Two Ways to Live
