fireplace canopy

hi all
ripped out my old 1960s tiled fireplace and i will be replacing it with a firebasket on granite. but the opening is to tall so i am looking to get a fireplace canopy fitted at the top of the hole to reduce the size of the opening. would like it to be made of mild steel and polished. does anyone have any info on a blacksmith/metalworker who would be able to make this for me preferably in the dorset area?????? as have heard that a blacksmith etc would be able to make this at a much cheaper price than a fireplace type shop.
