I'm backing Mookie on this one - I used genuine grobags on my daughter and I have bought the 0-6 months one for my son who is due to be born at the end of next month (when he's big enough of course!)

But what are we discussing here? I am going to say is £25 - the difference between a genuine grobag and a cheap copy a price for a baby's life? Really that is what is being said here? Mookie is rightly pointing out there can be and is a problem with the cheaper ones.

New parents do not have much money I agree, I'm about to become a new parent again, but I am sorry you buy cheaper bottles or something else than quibble over a product that has been tested and approved. Especially when it comes to their sleeping - the one area where babies can and do die due to cot deaths. Don't call me a scare mongerer because I am not I am pointing out that there are some things you skimp on and there are some things you do not.

TK Maxx often stock the smaller sizes of genuine Grobags for around £12.99, so it's worth having a look if you have a store nearby.

Hi all-have bought the 'Pure baby' grobag from home bargains when my little man was 6 wks-the 0-6 months version. The proportions on it are daft-he outgrew it by 15 weeks and he's not a large baby.
Also found that it went very very bobbly in the drier and if you put it anywhere near a radiator it went stiff!!
Honestly wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for value for money cos you'll end up buying two of them to go the distance.
I like Sainsburys myself-and the original Grobag which i've bought off eBAy before now.
When you get to the end of your tether, tie a knot and hang on.
  • I think the Matalan version is safe and they are £8, only do them in 2.5 tog.

I got a couple of bargain sleeping bags from a nursery online closing down sale. They were a bit big for MiniFreda to begin with - my mum went to a sewing shop and got a little gadget that puts poppers into material for a couple of quid, and I just added a few more poppers at the neck, to stop MiniFreda disappearing inside the bag.

Please check if buying there, one particular style they do is the one I had the scare with.

My Matalan one was one of the best ones for when they are small, they have poppers under the arms and necks are fitted, they come up shorter in length so fit perfectly in moses baskets too. I got mine in the sale for about £4 last year. :D

Hi there, I have had 3 from Sainsbury's 2 from Home Bargains and 2 from Matalan. They are all excellent quality, wash and dry brilliantly and none of them have gone bobbly. Though I must comment on the last one we bought from Home Bargains (it was a blue one, the pink one is great). I have only just started using it and the last couple of mornings I have gone into my daughters room (she is 10 months) and found her just standing there in only her pyjama top! I have now stopped using this one as the poppers aren't very strong and gone to one where it fastens down the front (Sainsbury's) so she has no chance of wriggling out of it. There has never been any problem with the arm or head holes being too big though.
