no there not the orig one but lovely quality ive jst washed mine and its lovely even though 4.99 is pretty good the cheapest ive found b4 is 9.99 from tk maxx

I too picked one up the other day size 18-24months and they are quite good

I also purchased another couple from this site at the sale price they are only £5.00 DELIVERED!!!

in addition to my last post, Asda also have a some beautiful gro bags for £9.99 that i saw last week. Even at £9.99 i think the Asda grobags are decently priced.

I am writing this post to warn any readers to be very careful when buying bargain grobags made by other stores.

I bought my daughter one from a well known store when she was 4 months old. It was age 0-6 months, she was well over the lowest weight recommendation. The first time I put her to bed in it, I was tidying the room whilst she was falling asleep. I checked on her a few minutes later and it was over her face! I was very lucky to notice it and get her out of it.

The reason this happened is because the neck hole and arm holes are larger on some lower priced versions, a genuine Grobag has extra poppers under the arms and a close fitting neck. On comparison with a Grobag it was obvious, I am in the process of complaint with the store and am hoping they will make changes to the current design as they are still for sale.

I just wanted to make people aware as you assume they are safe, the original Grobags have been through a lot of tests but a lot of the stores versions have not. Check the sizes of the arms and necks before buying, your baby should not be able to slide down inside it, the neck should fit closely to their neck, the armholes should be farily snug under the armpits. The one I had, my babies whole head fitted inside the neckhole and the armholes were large enough for her to move down (hope this makes sense).

I have a genuine Grobag, I also have Mothercare and matalan versions which compare really well.

i have used 'other' grobags from Asda, Tesco and woolies without any problem whatsoever. the original 'grobag' make are very expensive and boasts extras (quality of material etc) to justify there overcharging. many people who are new to parenthood tend to be short of cash and can no way afford to pay £30 on a grobag.

so these alternatives are ideal, also http://www.baby-sleeping-bags.com/ have many good alternatives to the original grobag make, some cheaper and some dearer.

my neighbor is so happy i told her about the £5 grobag. as her 5 month old has eczema patches on his knees and with the grobag he cant get at em at night !

one last thing, which most of you would know - is make sure you dont have your baby sleeping close to a radiator, and DONT over heat them with lots of sleepwear and a thick tog grobag.

omg!!! mookie, thats the first thing his dad said when he saw them :O
the arms and neck holes are massive
plus they had a label on saying about the holes shouldn't be bigger then the baby or something along those lines but the next size down was really small in comparison

do you think they will take them back?? i am really worried now but we have given his smaller ones away now so i think i'll be having a sleepless night while i wait on changing it tomorrow

I agree that they are expensive, nobody needs to buy the £30 Grobags just look out for the fitting of the cheaper ones as they are not approved by FSID, the £30 price tag is due to fact it is backed by the FSID association, I bought my genuine Grobag in a panic after the incident but the mothercare and matalan ones are just as good. I just want to warn people as the store is still selling them and I cant bear the thought that people are buying them still unaware of the hidden dangers and what could of happened if I had not been there.
