Changing phone numbers to avoid abuse (Tiscali)

Hello - hope someone can help. I need to urgently change my phone numbers - landline and mobile, because of an abusive ex. I phoned Tiscali and after call centre hell (not answered; cut off) I was finally told that it's not possible to change my number (I didn't go into the details with them, though). All they can do is block various numbers (which of course won't help me). Surely this can't be right? Does anyone know different? Tiscali can't even tell me the right department to call, so I'm hoping they're wrong on this, too.

Tiscali should have a nuisance or malicious calls team,see if you can be put through to them.

im going through the same situation (mine abusive texts from my exs parents) at their age you'd expect better.

Mobiles, Im on pay and go, (got 02 + vodafone), the customer service from 02 was excellent within 2 days I had a new number which they sent me a sim card by DHL at no cost to myself, they transferred all the credit over, the package etc, Vodafone had to buy a new sim, but rang customer services, they swopped the credit over.

Sorry to ask Im not being nosey, just looking at a different avenue, have you reported the matter to the police, if you have they will of given you a crime ref no, also when I rang the police the person I spoke to asked had they got the landline (no thank -god), just if it was yes, they have nusiance calls bureau that can help with phone companies.

If your on contract and nearing end of contract look at getting a new contract, new number, but def try the nuisance calls team at tiscali and the mobile phone operators.
