Car service low mileage?

Regarding brake fluid, they may say they changed it and charge you but I reckon they wouldn't bother and you won't be able to tell, this applies to a dealer or a local garage - just my cynical opinion of garages.
Old brake fluid often looks darker. However, I think the only real way to know is to use one of those dipping tester things but if I remember correctly they're expensive.0 -
I'm not going to mention sheep or show you a picture..... but weren't they great!:D
Steve, the law changed in October 2003 - saying you could have your car serviced under warranty at a garage that was VAT registered, and as long as your car is serviced according to manufacturers schedule and genuine -and/or pattern parts used. The most important genuine part is the oil filter - get that yourself from the dealer if necessary. Some cars don't have service intervals every 10,000 miles or annually - i don't know what schedule your car is on.
As said before, i do very low mileage - I have my car serviced annually - the oil is changed, the wheels are off to check brakes, copper slipped etc and what needs to be replaced is replaced ie air filter, pollen filter. My mileage is only 10k -7.5k at last service and was noticed that needed brake pad reline in 2-3000k. Ok its automatic and one brakes more, and normally pads need replacing around 20kish but they don't last like they used to due to not having asbestos in them and not wearing so long as they are softer.
Its a false economy not to check the pads - if they wear too much then you will find you'll need brake discs which will cost more and labour will be more.
Get a good garage that can service your car annually that will take into consideration your mileage. Dealer won't do that -they'll just go according to schedule and you'll pay for stuff you don't need.:DGenie

nice picture editing guys!
taxiphil is right,if the part that has failed is not a serviceable part then your warranty claim will still be valid.
i bought a focus brand new, only got it serviced once by ford at its 1st interval, then done the servicing myself from then on in,it is now nearly 4 years old with over 50,000 miles.
during the 3 year warranty i took it back twice for a window wiper motor fault and passenger electric window regulator fault, both were repaired quickly under warranty with no quibble and no manufacturer or dealer servicing....work permit granted!0 -
Missing the sheep.............:(Genie
