in Credit cards
I'm looking to improve my credit rating and i've been reading various threads on this, i've heard about a Barclaycard which does just this and i don't need a deposit either.
Sounds good to me, but i'm wandering if i should go ahead with the application, has anyone else got one of these they could tell me if its worth doing. I'm only after a card just for emergencies and small purchases and i don't want a big limit either.
Any advice would be most appreciated

It really is good. The APR is 24.9% but you can take advantage of offers to other existing customers. Your credit limit will probably be low at the outset, say £300 or £400, but will rise steadily if the card is conducted well. Capital One can be very slow at this and you only get your deposit back if you close the account - this could be 6 months or 6 years!
The only downside, is the long application process time. It can take 3-4 weeks before they get back to you, however, if you are not in a rush it is a good bet.0 -
Barclaycard Initial is the perfect credit card for this.
24.9% apr and great oportunities for balance transferring to your Barclaycard at apr eg: 2.9 or 6.9 even for new customers.
I had a Capitalone Classic card, they required £200 deposit for £200 credit limit and the control panel is days out-of-date.
Barclaycard I got £1,100 credit limit, No security deposit required, lower apr and balance trasnferred my store cards to it at 6.9% plus the online control panel is always up-to-date.
If Barclaycard give you a credit limit that you consider too high, call them and they'll happily adjust it for you.
If I'd have realised earlier, I would have applied for Barclaycard Initial first then if unsuccessful I would have applied for Capitalone Classic - you live and learn :rolleyes:Proudly Banking & Saving With:
