Crash course on savings

I know what you are going to say (I should research this first)

Anyhow I am a total beginner and need some guidance.

What sort of things I should consider when wanting to save - my ISA is nearly full!

Help please (and don't tell me off)

Comments

  • Im no expert but I filled my ISA last month and have put my money in an e-savings account with the intetion of transferring it all in April into my 08/09 ISA.

You will be able to put more into your ISA from the beginning of April (not sure of exact date)

For the amount I am likely to save in the next couple of months and the fact its not going to stay in the account very long its hardly worth the hassle of searching for the top paying account (well thats my opinion on my personal situation anyway)

    hope this helps :)
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!

    Couldn't have said it better!;)

As well as the previous link .. also read this :-

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/savings-accounts-best-interest

......... then go to the Banking / Saving tab on the main site (top line above) and read all the appropriate articles. Then you'll be an expert:p

Seriously - can't do it for you as all circumstances / requirements are different. So you have to determine the main path for yourself .... but then ask a bit more advice / read a bit more if you can't decide whether to have it tarmac / concrete or flagged!
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
  • looks like have got lots to read...let me fill me glass before I start
