Microwave not heating food

My Panasonic microwave has stopped heating food. Inside the compartment the top wall gets warm but the plate/food is cold. It also sometimes shuts off automatically and the cooling fan cutting in. I think the circuit might have overheated. Are they worth repairing or scrapping? had a look inside but don't know where to start checking.
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
Well at least i learn something on the way

It's either a fault with the magnetron (which creates the microwaves) or it's circuit board. You could take it to a Panasonic authorised dealer and see if they'll find out what is wrong and how much it'll cost to fix, then you can decide whether to scrap or buy a new one.0

Scrap it and look in Argos sale. A repair is not economical.0

Here is a combi microwave http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=682675&highlight=combi+microwave
I wouldnt bother getting yours fixed as it will cost too much as Amonra says.0 -
I got a tesco combi microwave and it broke in 6 months. Took it to the dump, and got a decent mid-range microwave (though its not combi - ?but I have an oven anyway)0

Blimey. I'd get one of those if I could get it into the car, then into my place (weak/small/pathetic female syndrome)
I am fed up with waiting for the oven here to warm up for 30 minutes so I can heat 1 individual pie!0
