I feel much better now and will probably make an offer although we don't quite know where to start. We know it will have to be a good offer, close to the asking price? I asked the agent and they said they have no idea of the offer already accepted. It would be great if I could find out!
We are FTB's and have an agreement in principle and 15% deposit, so probably in a good position.0 -

Get your solicitor sorted as well. Some companies will not accept offers without knowing the full names of the buyers, mortgage details and solicitors details. Provide them with as much info as you can, it may make their decision to switch easier.
As per the existing offer, contact the other agent involved, ask them if they had to publish a public notice. If they did, find out which paper & the date it was published. You can probably obtain a copy of the paper from the library, publisher etc.0 -
Thanks for the advice I rang our estate agent this morning and said we want to make an offer but would like to know the other offer first. They said they are going to try to find out and call me back.
If the vendor wants the most they can get for the property..why don't they just tell us so we can beat it?
