Just a general question regarding egg

in Credit cards
Hi,
I was approved for an egg card a few days ago and the credit limit they set is nowhere near enough to cover a balance I wanted transfer, i've asked them to increase and gave a reason and just waiting to hear from them. The interest rate on my current card (Halifax One) has just gone up a ridiculous amount so i'm trying to get away asap. I wanted to transfer around £1900 and egg have given me a rather tiny £500.00...
However i'm not to confident the response i'll get is the one I want so my initial idea was apply for a different card, this may not be the best idea since I only applied a few days ago.
Any ideas on which is the best thing to do should my response be... go away.
Thanks.:T

You did apply for Egg Card, not Egg Money, right? (The latter gives low limits.)Conjugating the verb 'to be":

If the new Egg card you've got is at a low interest rate, work out the maximum you can transfer onto it remembering there's a balance transfer fee, and move that to begin with.
Then think about applying for another 0% balance transfer card. It'll put a fingerprint on your credit report but might be worth doing. Have you got your free credit report to check you don't have any other cards showing (not a dumb question, found 2 on a friends recently)?
By the sounds of it, the more debt you can get off your Halifax One card and onto a better rate the better. This'll also help you gain a profile with Egg so you might get your limit increased in a few months anyway."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0
