Lighting question

We want to replace the units that the ceiling lights attach to. At the moment we have the bogstandard 2cm deep x about 10cm diameter white circular ones and I'd like to replace them with nickel plated or similar. Problem is, I have no idea what they're called or what to search for. I'm not sure if thats because I've had very little sleep this weekend?!

There are a verity of lights for under/above work tops cabinet etc ? the link below shows you cabinet downlights and undershelf lighting etc

heheh I was sooooo tired when I wrote that post! I've worked a 60 hour week AND decorated our hall stairs landing and master bedroom over the weekend... no wonder I don't make any sense!

I think its ceiling roses, thats what Mr Phirefly reckons, basically, I'm on about the bit the cord comes out of on the ceiling, a bit like this:

Ooooow I'm still really struggling with this. Anyone know where I can find these other than Buy It Better or what they're actually called? I hate buying something without making at least one price comparison...
