Grrrrr sorry but this is a bit of a rant. I am selling a few bits to raise a bit of cash and 1 of them is a craft heat gun. I put it up for auction on Saturday night and it had bids on it and 5 watchers. I have just had a little look on Ebay to see how things are going and it has been removed  because I had put nearly new in the title. I didnt realise that this was against Ebay rules but what gets me is that instead of telling me to change the wording which I would have done they have cancelled all the bids and removed the auction. Is there anything that I can do about this now
I am so cross with Ebay, sorry thanks for reading my rant
edited to add that the e mail that they sent me also states that If you relist this, or any other item that breaches eBay policy, your eBay privileges could be suspended. So does that mean I can not re list even if I do not put nearly new in the title

All you can do is relist the item but don't use phrases like "nearly new" "as new" "like new" etc
You can have stuff like "VGC" "good condition" "not used much" "only 6months old" etc though0 -
Thanks scbk - I only put nearly new as the title looked a bit short
I still think they were a bit quick removing the listing like that though - are they having a clamp down

now I wondered about that but I really am only getting rid of household stuff - not competition to anybody
its just a pain in the rear really. Such a lot of hassle for a few quid  but a few quid here and there soon adds up I suppose  Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -
Thanks for putting your 'rant' on oops a daisy, I know its not good for you what happened but you've probably helped quite a few people on here that didn't know that (stupid!) rule about not putting 'nearly new' on our ebay listings (me included!)I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0

Agreed! How bizarre, can't imagine the logic behind that one.
sorry you got caught out oops a daisy0 -
eBay don't usually pick these up - I would put money on some mean git shopping you. Maybe they have one for sale or just fancied upsetting someones day.
Relist without those words and hope for the best - don't let them put you off as thats what your competitor wants (if thats who shopped you)Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
And don't used the words cash on collection or will cancel item as advertised else were

Cash on collection is permitted. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
It seems to be ok to put the phrase "lightly used" in the title-you see that in a lot of craft items.
Definitely sounds like sour grapes though0
