Anyone Flown Whilst On Crutches? ? ?

Hi guys.
Im meant to be flying tomorrow morning from Stansted with Ryanair and i just wondered if there is anything you have to do before you arrive at the airport.
Im on crutches as a result of recent surgery.
I have tried to let Ryanair know but it is virtually impossible to get through to anyone on their call centres, helplines and customer services. I have tried, but it is just ridiculous.
If anyone has any advice then that is great.
Thanks.

Any reputable airline wouldn't be a problem, in fact they would let you board first - but O'Leary's outfit is a law unto itself. There is a disability 'phone number, 0871 246 000 - but even that has a cost - 10p a minute. !0

Hi mate, thanks a lot for that. That is the number that i have tried before, i dont get anywhere with it either, just asks you for a load of different options before returning you to the menu where you made your original selection.0

They can't refuse to fly you but it would be better to contact them in advance if you want assistance with travel to the gate and boarding. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

We flew to Rome via Schipol last year while my OH was on crutches - I phoned in advance to ask for wheelchair assistance. Worked fine Glasgow to Schipol, we were met by a golf buggy which whisked us round Schipol for the connection but when we landed in Rome, no wheelchair and no help. Apparently we needed to tell cabin crew on the Alitalia flight before we landed.
On the way back, even worse - wheelchair to departure gate, then the wheelchair was removed ........and then they changed the departure gate, and could I get a wheelchair back??? What a nightmare!0
