I have found a very good Independant Financial Advisor in the Yorkshire area.

    I think what Deemy meant is that you have to wait 25 years to find out whether the advice the IFA gave you was sound.
    No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    The best way to know if you've got a good IFA is to learn all about finance and then you'll know what (s)he's talking about and whether its nonsense - and then you'll start to feel that you don't want to pay anything to find out stuff you already know...

    So IFAs are for people who need them and then by definition they're not really in a position to say whether or not they've got a good'un.
