Hi-Please help! Barclaycard £25 offer

Hi

Just wondering if anyone took out the Barclaycard one pulse credit card for the £25 credit offer as recommended on moneysavingexpert.com in December, and if so, did you have the £25 credited to your account?

I clicked on the link from moneysavingexpert.com, read about the card including the £25 credit if you use your card withing 60 days, and clicked on apply and had my card a few days later.

I then used it to get the credit, but over a month later nothing was added to my account, so I phoned them this morning, have been passed from pillar to post, no-one will help me as they are saying I am not entitled to the offer as I didn't apply for that card! I have just searched for the article on this website, clicked the link and it is exactly the same card as I have got! Apparently I should have had a £10 house of Fraser voucher instead but I haven't even had that.

I am feeling upset and let down at the moment and feel like paying my balance and closing the card but why should I when I am entitled to the £25. I read all the terms and conditions and did everything I should have done but Barclays don't want to listen.

Sorry this is long winded, can anyone help with advice or tell me if they applied and whether they had the credit?

thanks very much

Cath

Sorry but I cant help as I received mine this very month. I paid for something and paid it off straight away. I dont know what you can do, what does your first statement say was the first date of opening as you had to do it before jan 8th I think it was.

If anything you will have to go find an address in which you can contact and state your not happy.
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"
  • I applied but only paid my first payment after Christmas. Have had one statement and I assume this £25 will appear on the next statement. Am not concerned about it yet, as I have found Barclays 'honest' about their cashbacks (well on their insurance services anyway).

Will post when I do receive it.

  • Hi, I've just checked my statement online and it seems I received the free £25 ten days after making my first purchase. Made the purchase on 15th Jan (only about £7) and was credited on 25th Jan with the £25.
  • Thanks for your replies guys, can I jsut ask Sharpeyshuffle, what card did you apply for?

    thanks

I applied for this card too, I as concerned as I haven't received my £25, but I phone Barclaycard and they told me they had a huge response to the offer and the cashback would be credited with 60 days. I applied for the Barclaycard Pulse as mentioned in Martins article.

I haven't used it since though!

  • I kept e-mailing them via the on line account servicing. After about three ping pong e-mails my acount was credited. You need to persevere..

  • I also got the card and I did applied online but I never got the 25 cash back. I only got the 10 pounds House of Fraser Voucher which I never used(think it expires Feb08). But I wouldn't cancel the card if I were you. You can still use it as an Oyster card and have it as a backup credit card if you prefer to use a different card most of the time. Let alone the cashless feature which may be proved to be quite useful in the not so distant future, as right now it seems that it takes longer to pay via cashless than via entering your pin and most shops don't take cashless payments yet. So if you are like me and prefer not to carry many cards in your wallet the one pulse looks like a win-win situation. It looks nice too:rotfl:
  • Hi Cath - I too applied for Barclaycard One pulse in response to add on moneysavingexpert. Card recd in Dec and house insurance purchased early Dec. Although ins co didnt charge to my OnePulse card til 15/1/2008.
As no £25 discount shown on first OnePulse Statement I emailed Barclaycard who state that I am not entitled to £25. No explanation!
I have now asked for explanation as to why they are reneging on original offer! I will let you know what they say!!!.
If I dont get £25 - Barclays will never get anymore of my business!

  • Didn't get my £25 either. Have emailed them.
