Gone over credit limit on Egg Card

Hi
I've got an Egg card with a £1250 Limit and pretty much maxed it out over Christmas. I have just had a look online at my account and a payment i forgot about was taken out on the 17th of Jan which took me £4.25 over my credit limit.
My statements are on the 17th and payments are on the 30th of each month. I have had the card for a while and this is the first time i've gone over my limit. I have paid £200 off the card today and plan on paying it completely off in 3 months.
Will Egg charge me for this and more importantly will this go against me on my credit record?
Thanks

I went over my puny £1000 limit once. Give their customer services a call and ask if they will waive any charge as a "goodwill gesture". I didn't even have to ask when I called, they offered without me asking when I explained that I had gone over my limit."A nation of plenty so concerned with gain" - Isley Brothers - Harvest for the World0

If you don't call they will charge an over limit fee.
Technically they are right to do so but you never know.0
