I see what you mean. You want to keep Full Service History of your car to get a higher resale value.

But as long as you reveal to your buyer that your car was flooded, s/he will just walk away.

If you want a good value from your car, just keep quite ;)

However, clever buyers sometimes can figure it out.

Only the engine was flooded, not the interior, and if she can say "xyz" was changed on the engine I think it would facilitate the sale. It sounds to me like it has either had a new engine, new pistons or whatever.
As a buyer I would be encouraged to learn that basically the engine has been effectively reconditioned, new head gasket, new pistons or piston rings, valves crankshaft etc.

    To miss boots,
I agree the information would be very handy to have. Questions I would have for the insurer :
How long is the repair guarnteed? and
How will I know which part is guaranteed if you won't tell me?

I'll try to find out for you about the documment release.

Hi, I'm a big believer in using a garage you trust. The insurers will try to push towards "thier" recomendation everytime because they get the discount. I know that isn't the issue here as it went to the garage of your choice, but I cannot understand the mentallity of any garage not being prepared to advise what they have done to your car,, as you say it's your car and you have every right to no. I's not as if you were asking the cost, but you do need to know if it is now to the same standard or better than it was prior to the accident. Were genuine parts used? Was it a new engine? Was it reconditioned? if so to what standard. Was a replacement engine fitted, of what mileage? These must be all you questions/suspisions.

My favorite trusted garage would not remain that for long if they wouldn't pass on that information to me. Dig your heels in, you have every right to know,   makes my blood boil this sort of secret squirrel stuff.

Supose if they told you, they'd have to kill you:eek: ;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
