you need to boot into safe mode, hit F8 on boot up (or when you first turn on the initial screen will tell you a key to hit for "boot options".
if that does not work then click on the start button bottom left, then click on run, then type msconfig, then click "ok"
on the box that comes up, click on 2boot.ini tab and tick the safe mode box, then click on the apply button which will tell you that you need to restart...it will then boot into safe mode....
run avg from there and it should move the virus for you
This is all done on the assumption you have windows xp (or Me)...if you have 98 then you need to boot up using a floppy and run AVG in dos mode to clean it
to get out of safe mode go back through the msconfig thing and untick the box...or if you used F8 then it will reboot normally on restart
Run AVG again to make sure you are clear

Run a couple of online scans to make sure and as I see a trojan horse run some anti trojan detection/removal software.
Free Scans, Kaspersky and Bit defender free online scan
For Firefox try Trend .
Free trial period anti trojan software is EWIDO this needs updating first prior to first use.0
