Does anyone know where I can get lots of pale pink, pale blue and brown shredded paper for little cost???

Ive checked Ebay and also my shops in town but Im sure I could get it cheaper somewhere else.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Do you have a shredder?

The cheapest way is to make it yourself - buy the tissue sheets in bulk (eBay is usually the best price, but pound/discount shops can be good too) - and run them through the shredder (I line the 'bin' with a carrier/bin bag to make it all easier to retrieve).

Other than that, I think you've probably got the best places already (unless there is a trade option open to you)

an electric one is the better of the two. are you near an asda store. i'm sure i recall seeing one in there for under a tenner. i used mine to shred all my packaging for my xmas hampers i.e silver/gold paper. tissue/crepe paper etc.
  • Yeah there is an Asda on the other side of town, I might pop over and have a look.

Where do you buy your tissue??

I've got an electric shredder - it takes up to A4, and as soon as it senses the paper, it automatically feeds it through, so very quick. I paid about £25 for mine over 5 years ago - the £10 one sounds like a good deal.

just various places .i go in lots of different shops over the summer (as we have a touring caravan so go away most weekends) and my eyes scout around.
my mum goes to lots of markets and pound shops as she is over 70 and gets free public transport and hates to sit about the house. so she loves to find me bargains.
one thing about trying the asda shredder, if its no good you can just return it later.

    Hiya,
For these baskets, I bought 2 different blue colours of crepe paper in a pack from a craft shop. I just folded it over and over and just cut it in strips with scissors. It took a while but is was very satisfying afterwards. Especially as I had asked for shredded tissue paper and basket grass everywhere, also got a lot of blank looks too. I hope you can just see it in the pic. It didn't look any different once the basket was filled. I know some websites call it basket grass, don't know if that will help you track it down. 100_0468-1.jpg
  • Argos have a couple of shredders for under £10 which might be of interest.

    and Morrisons too

Also worth a look if they have any
left,I was in the 99p shop before
Christmas and they had quite large
bags of shredded paper, had a squeeze
and you could tell they had packed in
loads, dont know if there will be any left
but they may get more in as people
use this for Easter baskets.Might be
worth asking in the £ and 99p shops
in case they have it coming in amongst
    the Easter lines

    Oh wow! They look amazing!
Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.
