Barclaycard ends Nectar points

Barclaycard has withdrawn from the nectar points system
'Barclaycard said it had decided to pull out of its relationship with Nectar because the scheme was not sufficiently highly valued by its customers.'

After this statement from Barclaycard will it spell the end of point systems on cards ??

For the last 10 years I have collected Airmiles (I now have enough for 3 return flights to Hamburg !)
Only to see the cheeky blighters raise the number of miles needed per trip !!!!
Hamburg moved from 950 miles rtn to 1150 miles rtn has the UK puuled further away from europe ?
Meanwhile it is almost the same price for the flight if I book through discounters as it is if I take the airmiles and pay the airport tax !
