Hi All

Me and the Mrs need to go from Liverpool Street to Stansted Airport on Saturdsay coming back Sunday. We both have yearley zone 1-6 Travelcards and Gold cards.

The stansted express number I called told me the cheapest option would be to buy a ticket from Tottenham Hale and it would be around £24 per person

Looking on Thetrainline.com from Tottenham Hale for two adults with a Gold Card is £31.70. If I buy this ticket will I still be able to get on at Liverpool Street is it valid etc??

From Liverpool Street with the Gold Card is £35 for the two would i be better buying this? Or are there any other options.

Hope this makes sense.
Thanks.

I'd ask for a ticket from "Boundary Zone 6" to Stansted at the ticket office. That should ensure the cheapest upgrade.
    Can I help?

I agree with rdwarr; your Zones 1-6 would take you way past Tottenham Hale (Zone 3) and up towards Enfield Lock/Waltham Cross (not sure where the Zone 6 boundary is). Ask at the Liverpool Street ticket office.

The man on the phone said that as the Stansted Express doesnt stop at Enfield Lock I have to buy a ticket from Tottenham Hale...

If you outward journey begins in London it doesn't matter where the train stops. You ask for a Gold Card return ticket, coming back Sunday, from Boundary Zone 6 to Stansted as has already been said. As far as I know you can't buy boundary zone tickets in advance, they have to be at the ticket office. Although if you can I'd welcome hearing about it, as I get very fustrated having to queue up at the ticket office asking for Boundary Zone tickets to get out of London.

Thanks will give this a whirl on Saturday, knew that would work for a 'normal' train service but thought that the Stansted Express might be different.
