Outlook Express Restore

I have had to re format my 'C' drive. However, I copied the contents to another drive. Is there anyway that I can retrieve my old e-mails or contacts?

    You can export all your contacts to disc but as for your old e-mails the only thing I can think of is to forward them to another account like Yahoo or Gmail.

    if you've copied your mails to another drive then copy them to your new drive in say My Documents\email. then setup your mail account again and go into > tools > options > maintenance > store folder and change it to where you've just copied your mails.

    Assuming you're using OE6 and Win XP then

    File ->
    Import ->
    Messages ->
    Select Microsoft Outlook Express 6, then press Next ->
    Select Import from an OE6 store directory, then press Ok ->
    Click Browse and find the folder with your messages in, eg

    Z:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\!!255D7815-57FE-4426-8029-80B8371D4D7D}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

    (where Z is your backup drive)

    then follow on screen instructions

    Contact details are stored in *.wab files so go to

    File ->
    Import ->
    Address Book ->
    then just browse to where your wab file is, eg

    Z:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book

    I recently had to do this but with help from scheming_gypsy, I managed to retrieve the messages.

    I found that although I'm using OE6 and Win XP, there was no option to import apart from OE4 or OE5. Also OE was being very slow, but as soon as I installed XP SP2, the problems stopped and it's fine now.
