Please help,
I have 2 pcs and recently bought a cordless mouse. The cordless is terrible to use but now the old mouse will not work at all on both pcs. ( when wouldnt work properly on 1st pc i tried it on the 2nd)

Upstairs pc. works with cordless mouse plugged in ps mouse plug or plugged in usb via supplied adaptor. tried system restore, looking in device manager etc but standard mouse will not work.
The standard mouse did work for a short time when i unistalled the software for the cordless leaving the standard mouse plugged in. After a restart it wouldnt work, this is why i know the actual mouse to be ok . In device manager showing ps2 compatable mouse working ok , but cordless works ok via ps2 but not standard mouse.

Downstairs pc. works with cordless but keep getting a dos type error message about a pointing device on boot up which gives me an option to go into the bios. In the bios the mouse is said to be unistalled , so i change this to mouse installed , it boots up then same message and mouse now unistalled. I save changes in the bios but reverts back to unistalled.

Please help, a few pointers ( pun intended) would be good.

Thanks

I've never had a wireless mouse that was any good! Either the batteries ran down too quick or just wasn't as controllable as a wired connection.
friend of mine recently had a nightmare mouse with his media centre pc (all wireless set up) and although the wireless keyboard works fine the mouse was infuriating! His only solution was to buy a USB mouse (his pc had no ps2 connections - the joys of wireless) and that works brilliantly AND no battery costs too!
Sorry if it doesn't entirely solve your problem but it's an alternative workaround to consider perhaps.
