Just wondering if anyone can help with this. Hubby has been trying to install iTunes for his iPod but everytime he does it the D&E Drives disapppear from the computer. Each time he has to restore the pc to a "safe date" before they return.
Does anyone know what causes this and how we can get around it? Ta!

Is he using Mac Os X or Windows XP / Vista?
Firstly, I would suggest downloading the latest version of itunes and quicktime, https://www.apple.com/itunes and then try again.

Open up iTunes and change the setting so the iPod doesn't automatically start iTuines.
Then connect your ipod.
Click Start, then right-click My Computer and click Manage.
Go to Disk manager and oyu should see the iPod in there as a drive.
Right-click the drive and go to "Change drive letter or path". Change the drive letter to something at the other end of the range, like "Z" or something.
That should do it.
EDIT: Actually, I've just re-read your problem and it's not what i thought it was - but try it anyway, can't hurt right? The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.
