Adobe Reader problems

I recently had problems opening this programme.I then tried to delete it but when I use ADD/REMOVE all I get is a pop up with the following
“This patch package could not be opened. Verify that this patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer patch package”
Any ideas how to uninstall it and what does the warning mean?

If you are prepared to take on a second browser, such as Mozilla Firefox, which appears clearer/sharper/faster you have the opportunity to run their version, Foxit, and that opens instantly with no effort.

I do use Firefox and have installed the Foxit reader program. When I try to launch a pdf file I still get the message that Acrobat would not launch though.

Go to tools, options, content and then click on manage

That will give you the option to change what program is used to open PDFs
