Hi all!!
Been invited to a wedding in Upholland in May and unfortunately the hotel is fully booked already. As my OH is the best man we were hoping to get a room in the hotel (he only got asked the other night). Wedding is at the Holland Hall Hotel and from what I read on tripadvisor the closest hotel to it (Lancashire Manor) doesn't get good reviews.
Can't seem to find any B&Bs online so was wondering if anyone here has any local knowledge and can point me in the direction of one as close to the venue as possible.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for that. Was hoping for something a bit closer if possible as we will have to rely on either foot or taxi at the end of the night??"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

It might be worth trying to book a room on one or two of the agencies like late rooms, sometimes the reason hotels are full is because they give a certain number of rooms to agencies, also have you called the hotel to see if you can be added to the wait list?
I don't know the hotels in question but I travel a lot for business and things change on a daily basis with hotel bookings, hope it works out OK for you.0 -
Thanks, yes it was late rooms I was looking at to start with to book the hotel as it was cheaper there than it was actually booking direct with the hotel. If I had known he was best man I would have booked it there and then! I am guessing the rooms are all booked now by wedding guests so the chances of them cancelling will be few and far between. Typical of my luck!!!!"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

Hi I live about 2 miles from the hotel, I would try either The Priory, just been refurbished about mile half from your venue, or The abbey lakes about 1 mile away, dont know what rooms are like, just BB or you might be worth booking into weatherspoons The Brocket about 4miles away, but decent rooms cheap breakfast and cost you i think £39 for the room, not per person. and taxi would cost you about £6, hope it helps any more info please post me.
thanks0 -
Thanks Lancs Girl. I take it there are no B&Bs in Upholland itself that you know about?
The Abbey Lakes and The Priory both look pretty reasonable, it's amazing what you can find on the internet when you are given a few pointers as theses ones havent featured anywhere on my searches so far!"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

Hi,
No there are no B/Bs that i am aware of in upholland, its only a small area, although holland hall is classed as upholland Skelmersdale its actualy just over the boarder of Wigan.
in your search you might want to check directories 192 online and put town/region as orrell, this is a sub part of Wigan and the nearest to Holland hall, other sub areas are Billinge,
By the way the Priory rooms to my knowledge are bit like travellodge rooms, set seperate from the hotel. good luck0 -
Ideal, cheers for your help. Will let the others who are heading down to the wedding know what you have said and we can get our heads together and see where will we go for. Think there will only be 6 of us travelling down to the wedding from here so shouldn't be too difficult to decide.....I may just have to TELL them!!!"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!
