Sorry I just have to share this with you. I've justbought my dad the best 84th(he's quite active) birthday present! He's going falconing (is that a word) for the day with my hubby (who has his birthday on the same day!). That'll save me money....yeahhhhhhhhhhh!

On a more normal note, tomorrow night I have to be in the same place at four different times with 6 different children so i'm still doing the sums on that one. I am sharing lifts with someone as a trial but she's really unreliable so i'll give her one chance and then decide what to do if that doesn't work. Have you ever wondered what we'd get paid if we were actually paid for everything that we do?

Good luck to you all you ebayers this week. I used to sell quite a lot on there but i've nothing left to get rid of at the moment. I really need to go in the loft and see what's up there but that's a job for when i'm feeling mad or brave!

  • 7 books marked - i am a horrible person - i have barely marked these books all year and they show it. I am sneakily going back and putting a few extra ticks and crosses now, and it has took forever - an hour for 7 books.

Lilo fingers crossed for you for tomorrow.

LJD my BIL suggested we get that as a gift for FIL for his birthday - not something i realised you could do until very recently.

I'm off to bed - will join in with that ebay challenge though this week i think. May use a 10 day listing a-la lil-me though.

    See you all tomorrow.

I'm one of the nasty nit-picking parents that would have come into school by now and spoken to you about it!! Does that make me really terrible?

I got quite irate when DS3 was in year 3 and the teacher 'never bothered' to mark his work.. true sometimes things were marked correct when they weren't and vice versa.. awful aren't I? .. At least you are now trying to catch up a bit.. the children WILL notice and htey will appreciate it really.. At least you are sitting still doing it!!

Michelle, all the way through school we used to have to mark each others books, thought they still did that, wouldn't it take the pressure off a bit?

    Hi all
I'm in again, had a pretty good week last week, and it was obvious by the weekend that the house wasn't the usual pigsty so it worked! We had friends over for dinner on Saturday and for a change I didn't have to run around madly clearing clutter 10 minutes before they arrived

lil_me - thx for new thread

Rach - in case I forget to say later, lots and lots and lots of luck and best wishes for your big day, its sooooo exciting :j :j

uh-oh laptop almost out of battery, will post more tomorrow!

  • Morning

we are up, last night's washing up away, cats fed, and now having breakie.

It is absolutely awful here - absolutely siling it down. When i heard it i didn't want to get out of bed but there you go.

Thanks pigpen and lil-me for thinking about my marking. I normally walk around with a red pen and mark as i read when i go round, but this class behae like chimps in the zoo most of the time so i have to watch them like a hawk most of the time. No parents will complain because they never take the books home, and mostly don't do the homework either.

I'll give the kids who are doing well some extra rewards today, and make sure i work through break and dinner and get some more done.

In my defense, i missed mainly there lessons when off sick last term, and they are the only group that are like that. Makes me sound like i am crap though doesn't it.

It's the perfectionist streak again, if i can't do it properly i am not doing it, and i would rather do it well than use lazy teachers tricks - you are right though, i need to take the pressure off a bit, so will try getting y11 to mark each others work perhaps today if i am not being observed.

I'll try to fly a bit this week. Today and tomorrow are a bit full already though, as I am doing my Reiki First Degree :T - I've been up since 6am because I wanted to get a nice soak in the bath in with some essential oils before the kids woke up and needed the loo/bathroom. I succeeded! I now feel really refreshed, am dressed and just need to stick my hair in a plait once it's finished drying from last night's wash.

Belated happy birthday mum on a mission! There were rather a lot of birthdays last week!

I only read up to part of Thursday or Friday I think, I might catch up tonight if I get chance. This always happens to me with this thread, I end up trying to read everyone's posts and so the 'flying' gets sidetracked.

Best of luck Lilo for your harvest. Hope you find it OK. :grinheart
