l have searched on this wonderful website but cant find much info about points on driving licences. what l would like to find is... a list of circumstances or offences that cause you to get points on your licence. lve looked on google but no luck. l would have thought that when people pass their test they should be given a list of what causes points on their licence especially as they would have to retake the test if they get 6 points within 2 years. l do not drive myself but would be grateful if someone could advise..

To sum up...
Basically think that everything will get you points except:
Not wearing a seatbelt.
Most mechanical defects such as number plate, blown bulb but defective tyres will.
Not having road tax.
Parking illegally.
...unless of course you live in Lincolnshire where you can race a mate and crash into an oncoming car on a blind bend and despite the fact you have no licence, no insurance and were driving dangerously, the Police will take no action.0
