Fisher and Paykel

I am looking to purchase some new white goods. I keep coming across products from Fisher & Paykel. Has anyone ever purchased or had experience of their products.
I have been trying to find info on various message boards, but with no luck.
I would be grateful for any advice.

  • My knowledge of them is a company that produces heated humidifiers for hospital/healthcare use. They were the main supplier to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital I used to work for. Haven't heard of them in the domestic market before.

I know a little about them

They are based in New Zealand, with factories in Dunedin and Auckland , plus factories elsewhere around the world including USA, Italy

Every so often, they advertise in the UK Engineering magazines for engineers to emigrate and join them down under

When I was out there last year (on holiday), every place we stayed at seemed to have F&P appliances, so that must mean something!!!

A quick "google" returned their UK website

We have a F&P fridge freezer. I'm looking at it now. It's 6 or 7 years old and I actually love it!

It's very quiet. But beeps intermittantly to tell youou've left the door open which is invaluable for us, it's frost free, antibacterial and was ahead of it's time in the style stakes because the other manufacturers have now picked up on the curved front look. The handle is curved too.

The fridge has a huge capacity considering the thing is only 5cm wider than a standard fridge.

With a family with an excellent track record of wrecking things and who have moved house no less than seven times with this fridge, it about one of the only things we have kept with us. The inside is immaculate still and the outside looks pretty alright considering it's age. It's lived in a couple of garages and It's not rusting at all, just been bumped a couple of times in our haphazard moves :o

H's sister has a dishwasher and it's very pretty too. Can't vouch for the standard of wash, but it is very quiet.

    :)

  • Thanks to everyone for your replies
  • We have one of their dishwashers and I think it is brilliant. It has 2 draws so that they can be operated individually which is great for us. Their other appliances are also very good. Good luck
