I've just read this -
Ski socks – don’t use football socks or the like. These have seams in them which can cause rubbing in the ski boot. Ski tubes, as they are known, are seamless socks which are far more comfortable. Only allow your children to wear one pair of socks, as a second pair can wrinkle and fold in the ski boot causing discomfort.
Googling 'ski tubes' brings up various results, thus you might find some joy there. Though not ideal in the summer months.0 -

Ski tube socks for juniors are £2.99 for 2 pairs in the ski section at TK Maxx, I bought some today.0

BUT ski tubes will still have toes seams, and the cheaper brands often have quite prominent seams sadly.
Have you tried ordinary socks worn inside out?? Something like some of the better quality M+S kids socks have quite flat toe seams and then if they are inside out they might do the job??
If no help on here then if you can find and autism/aspergers board to post on then I bet you'll get lots of help, as seams are a real biggie for these kids.0 -
Thanks anonymousie, I have a deep suspicion my son is slightly autistic but I don't want to think it. So you have just knocked me for six!!!!!! He seems to cope well enough in other areas....eek....thanks I will read up on this.0

Hi
Sorry to shake you a bit ((())), remember autism is a spectrum and we all have autistic traits to our personality almost noone is without them!
My own son is 12 and though TBH the most emotionally intelligent caring boy you could ever meet is amazingly change resistant (he had to have a lie down when we bought him a new bed as a suprise- not that he didn't like it, but he couldn't cope with the surprise!) and fixed in his ideas of "what is right". So he has some really strong aspie attributes, along with his caring nature.0 -
My almost 6 year old hate seams too, we have a right palaver before school if his seams aren't right, screaming and crying.
Interestingly he is currently being assessed by the behavioural intervention team at school (for a few other things)
So perhaps he is slightly autistic too
Other things he can't stand is anything slimy, wet or sticky on him, he wont drink out of a glass if its from the drainer and still slightly wet, I know how we all used to hate having a "spit wash" when we were little but be honest, we all end up doing it even though we swore we wouldn't. I had to do it yesterday and I got called a stupid woman, he was all red in the face and waffling on that he was going to steal all my money and hide it! not sure if that is another sign, I am off to read up about it, thanks

My son is Dyspraxic and also has ADD and mild autism too.
Every morning without fail we have this problem with his socks!
Thank you for making me feel like I'm not the only mum in the world that has this with their child! :j0
