Need to compare tax credit award with someone in similar position

As a result of browsing threads here, I contacted IR just before Christmas to check figures the had and to let them know of a slight drop in income. During the conversation I mentioned I also had more exact figures for childcare to update those I gave them in August '07 when I returned. The operator informed me that they had no record of my using childcare and the rectify this I would need to call back with Registration details etc. This Friday I duly did so and tonight called them back for info on my amended award. I had my fingers crossed for a few extra bob a month!
My award was originally £36.50 per month.
DH and I earn about the £29000 between us and we have 2 children in childcare which costs us £432.00 in an average month.
I nearly fell of my seat tonight when the operator told me I was getting over £800 on 24/1 followed by £200+ on 29/1 and subsequently about £200+ each month 'till April when the renewals will be due I suppose. Brilliant news but do I trust them?
Is there anyone who is in a similar position to us ie earning the same, paying the same, same amount of kids with whom I could compare. ? PM me if you prefer.
Thanks

I'm not sure if the figures are correct. You need to carefully check the new award notice when it arrives. The things to watch for are:-
The childcare cost is the correct amount per week or per month
The date thay started paying the childcare costs from is correct - it might only be backdated 3 months from the date of your call the other day.
They have both your incomes on it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
As mentioned by Pam17 - make sure EVERYTHING on the award notice is correct. Any small details could result in an overpayment if they are incorrect.
If all is correct then there should be no need to worry.0
