Apologies if this has already been covered but haven't been able to find anything when I searched.
Has anyone got the new Orange Max broadband and home phone service, where you get your own phone line through them rather than BT?
If so what do you think about it? Would you reccomend it. I already get wireless broadband through orange and it is only a couple of pounds more for the whole package than I pay now. I am tempted, but don't know of anyone who has used it.
Thanks, Alison
PS anyone else think it sounds like a caffine laden soft drink?
Edit 21/1. oops that should be Orange Home Max , not like a soft drink at all then

I am a happy customer - although I would rather have gone with O2. Unfortunately, I don't really have a need for the free second line or the free calls to 30 international destinations.
Their support is pretty awful. However, I now have an 0800 number so at least I do not have to pay the call charges.0 -
Thanks for that, Ive just had a quick look on that thread and remembered all the wasted hours spent on the phone when things last when pear shaped ( or should that be Orange shaped?)
Have just had a quick look at Tiscali and they seem to do a similar deal for £14.99. Haven't had time to check it out properly yet.
I assumed that by sticking with Orange everything would transfer smoothly, but looking at some of the postings it could be the trigger for all sorts of problems.

Not quite sure what the bad press is, but I upgraded 2 weeks ago as already an orange customer like yourself and had no issues.

Swapping was easy even for a 'techno phobe' like me, full support, full broadband etc etc, only thing I'd gripe about is 'up to 8mb' but that is the same of anyone I'm led to believe?
To the contrary I havent heard great things about tiscali, guess down to personal preference, but I'm happy cos all costs, landline, mobile day / evening / weekend, texts & calls to orange covered (partner on orange too!),as I begrudged paying BT line rental purely for broadband usage! plus can talk for as long as i want all for 15 squid! Also found help pages / technical support very useful ....think I may be asking for commission here!
Know what you mean by the drink llink - bit of a tango'd pepsi?0 -

You fail to mention that in addition to the £15 a month you have to pay for a 18/24 month Orange Mobile Contract to get the service.0 -
