Best Credit Card Purchase Protection?

I am thinking of having some double glazing put in.

I'm thinking of putting it on a credit card and then paying it off full; Not using their finance!:money:

However, what protection does a credit card give me if I use this method of payment, should anything go wrong? i.e. bad installation, windows not as good as described etc?

Thanks.

My understanding is that in general you are at least as well protected as a consumer where all or part of the payment has been made with a credit card (but not a credit card cheque), thanks to Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. This is assuming the work costs more than £100 and less than £30,000.

I'm not a lawyer so you might want to check this out.

You can also save a bit if you can get a card with a 0% interest period on purchases. Otherwise, it is of course sensible to pay off in full as you intend.
However hard up you are, never accept loans from your friends. Just gifts
