check whether your account is set up to receive credit cards, if thats the method thaey have paid through paypal, and you aren't set up for that yet, that could be the reason I think.

    Hi
As said make sure your account is setup for credit cards.
If not you will have to upgrade your account .

You need to make sure you have a premier account. If your account has refused payment you would have got an email from paypal telling you needed to upgrade, in that email they would have told you how to do this.

If you received no emails from paypal then go back and double check that you have the correct email address associated with your paypal account. The ebay invoice would have automatically assumed that the paypal account was in the same email address as the one you used for ebay. I recently changed my email address and had to change it in both paypal and ebay and also in my ebay preferences as otherwise the invoice would have directed the paypal payments incorrectly.

    Hi
I haven't received an email from Paypal so presume everthing is OK ( for now anyway!) How do I upgrade to Premium - I can't see how to? Or should I not worry about this unless I get an email?
    Thanks

  • Pink...you won't get any notification until you get a payment, so I would sit tight for the moment. You can check eBay later on today to see if the pound sign beside your listing in sold items is blue. If it is, then the payment has gone through on Paypal ok. If not, the buyer still has not paid. As for upgrading your account, this can be done from the 'Merchant Tools' tab in paypal.

Like Criminal smile says I wouldn't bother do anything until you actually get paid. There is always the chance that a buyer will pay you by a direct balance transfer from their paypal account which would mean no fees if you keep your standard account. I'd certainly wait to be told I needed to upgrade before doing so.

Also, if you had any other payment methods shown your buyers might be using those instead of paypal anyway.
