    I also agree your bill doesn't sound all that high considering the time of year

    If you are concerned about the high hills try and cut down a little you can save a far bit just be lowering the thermostat 1c or so and set timer so its only on when your there, and have CH off before you go to bed say an hour the heat would be sufficient in house

    Also put thicker clothing on. I try and save money during day by wearing a thick dressing gown over my clothes

    Havey ou enough insulation in loft or the cavity walls assuming house is built after 1930
