Accident 14 months ago still unresolved
Options
I have a question if this is normal or not or if this is dragging on way too long.
In sept 06 I had a pang with a coach, at a roundabout where the coach behind me failed to see I had stopped and hit my car, resulting it being a write off. IMHO it was the coach drivers fault, and he even said so at the time. Now I have been paid off by my insurance company. but the issue has still not been resolved as the other insurance co has not accepted liability. The case has now been transfered to lawyers.
Anyone know how long this might go on for? If it does not go my way, what will happen to my current insurance, will they expect me to pay for cover I currently have, and backdate based on having lost my no claims discount.
I am quite miffed that it has gone on this long, and do not trust the coach company (they twice refused to give me their insurance details) so thinking they might have bent the truth

That's normal, it can drag on much longer and actually end up needing a day in court to decide liability. It is not for the coach driver to decide fault but the insurance company.0

A couple of years ago when I was involved in an accident, it was taking ages to settle with neither party accepting the blame and the insurers trying to get 50:50. Only, when I told them to take the matter to court did the other party back down. Basically, you need to pushy and if you are that adament that you weren't to blame, push for court action. If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0
