For those of you with 'holier than thou' attitudes don't you think that he and we are not only aware of what could have happened BUT have also discussed the future.
I also think you have more money than sense since an old banger can do just as much damage in the hands of a killer as new shiny model.
Why don't you phone round some insurance companies to see what they say about ex-drink drivers?
I hope that if you do manage to find cover it costs you and arm and a leg (literally) for your stupidity.
I know we are supposed to be nice to all MSE'rs and believe me this is me being nice!0 -
Try using your local insurance broker they will be more than able to help and wont be as judgemental as the people on here.
Fortis insurance are 1 company that I know of that are reasonable for people with convictions0 -
could someone please remove this thread for me please as the personal insults are not helpful in any way.
As I have already stated we have had major discussions about this. |He actually got his licence back several months ago so this is not a quickly arrived at decision.
What do I have to do to get the webmaster to remove the thread?0 -

Before you go though can you please tell me how you would feel if the police knocked on your door one night and said that your son had been in an accident - and you had financed his car and insurance.0 -
tha fact that somebody has made one mistake does not mean that it will be repeated - an assumption you seem to be making. you also make the assumption that I condone the situation.
I wonder what you would do if you were me?
I will no longer be looking the posts on the thread as it seems most people posting seem to be using it as a means of having a go rather than actually trying to help constructively with my request.
thank you to the few people who actually addressed the issue rather than sermonising.0 -
Get off this guy's back. Please take take your abuse elsewhere. Its not appropriate here.0

Hiya,
I am absolutely shocked by the nasty vindictive reponses you have recieved OP a friend of mine had a drink driving ban about 5 years ago... i will give him a call and see who insured him.
Yes your son made a mistake but he has paid the legal price and I am horrified that people seem to think that one mistake that is paid for legally should mean punishment and abuse for all time to come.
Has anyone ever heard the phrase "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" , for all those who have replied in such a digusting manner I hope you never do something you regret ... but then you are all such sanctimonious saints aren't you ???

When it comes to drink driving yes!
It was only by luck that OP 's son did not seriously injure or kill somebody (as far as we know).0
