have a look at flying to florida, we took a cruise last month from miami with carnival, we booked the flights with first choice and the cruise through cruises.com, you can get a 7 day cruise form about $500 so well within your budget.
if you fly to sanford orlando, you can cruise from port canaveral or tampa which are a lot closer than miami. cruises go out through the caribean, mexico, bermuda etc.
    have a search through cruises.com or vacationstogo.com.

Is that £1500 per person of for both of you? also does it include spends or is there more in the door to door budget?

I was hoping that would cover both of us!

A few days in Orlando before we board ship sound good by the way so will check that option.

    Many thanks

virgin atlantic give more flexibility regarding dates, you can get cheaper charter flights, i rekon you might be able to get flights at £500 each with virgin and depending on the dollar, £500 for the cruise (for both of you), but you can get cheaper flights on charter, hotels in orlando go from around £20 a night but you might even want to look at a shorter cruise (maybe 5 day?) and with the money saved, get some attraction tickets. eating out is very cheap, beer is a little more than half what we pay here so, imho, orlando is great for the average holidaymaker.

Thats £750pp If that includes spends you will struggle with long haul for a cruise of decent length, 7 nighters this year for June in caribbean are over £400pp so you have about £300 each for flights and a bit for a night in a hotel and tranfers.

Try to book for this year as practice and see what you can find.

Your money will go a lot further in the med.
