Buyer beware when buying a UK Sat Nav

After my experience of buying a car GPS, I've put a short article here: http://www.healthwealthandmusic.co.uk/wikis/homepage.html. Use the search box to look for PND. There are big differences between the US and UK models that even the UK vendors have missed in there advertising!

Beware of the difference between US and UK models
Have you noticed that as goods travel from the US to the UK they double in price and the specifications and standards for the same model drop? In other words, welcome to short-changed ripoff Britain.
Check the spec for the UK model!
The main differences are:
Text to Speech: US yes, UK no
Huge POIs: US yes, UK no
Extra software: US yes, UK no
Multimedia: US yes, UK no
Extra cables: US yes, UK no

The differences are only there is you have an old model sat nav and you've just gone to see what they're like over the pond.

UK market navs are UK market specific - they contain UK and ROI mapping! Are you going to buy in the USA with USA mapping and pay extra to download UK mapping?

Every nav that I have bought has POIs, installation software, can play photos, videos and are supplied with the necessary cables to connect to a PC. Are there extra cables that we don't know about? My Go 720 has text to speech if that's where you say the address details to the unit.

For example on Walmart the Go 720 is $393.54 = around £200. The Go 720 is available for £220 ish in the UK and the dollar price seems better because of the weak dollar.
