Morrisons

Options
Hello

My local Safeway has recently become Morrisons and I have to say that I think their offers are very good. Has anyone else found though that they have got home to find that they have been overcharged for items which are on offer. I have been overcharged on my last three visits . I don't ever do a full shop there I generally just take advantage of their offers but I now make a habit of checking my receipt before I leave the shop!!

Last weekend I brought a pot of jam the advertised offer price was 59p reduced from 95p however I was charged £1.08!!! I took the offer slip off the shelf and went to customer services where the girl tried to argue that it was a smaller pot of jam which was on offer. However on the offer sign it clearly stated the make, the variety and the the fact it was 340g which matched the label on the jar. She reluctantly gave me my money back but I had to fight

:T :T I have had the same problem with my morrisons for months now, I went through a stage were I was overcharged in every shop I done with them... Started writing huge letter in their comments books advising all customers to check receipts etc, but now they have took the customer comments book of the counter and use sheets instead! ( I wonder why) I now go to customer services and demand the manager every time - he is fed up seeing me but the message is beginning to sink in. Last time I was overcharged he gave me back my full money on the product. :T

    They're stoopid (Spelling intended :p )

Having worked for Safeways/Morrisons (on the checkouts) I can say that customer service counter staff aren't always the brightest grape in the bunch.

(Not everyone, just the ones in my old store)
I remember when this was just a little website! :money:

Our local Morrison has some great offers and lots of prices cheaper than Tesco.
However it pays to check the bill. If I've been overcharged on anything the customer service girls are always polite and give a refund but usually only of the amount overcharged.

not like Tesco where if o/charged you get the product free.

Its annoying that Morrisons don't refund and let you keep I would be rich and have a cupboard full of food if that was the case :rotfl:

I hate the way they don't have a gluten free section, but spread the gluten free products around with their gluten-filled equivalents!

I was overcharged in Morrisons four times.

First time just thought it was a mistake and got refund.

Second time, prepared to go with mistake becasue of so many changes. However I wasn't very happy that their policy is just to give you refund and nothing to reflect the fact they have made a mistake (unlike their competitors).

Third time got refund and contacted local trading standards office to look into. Amazingly, the product offer had been removed from the shelf and so no further action could be taken, as TS officers couldn't substantiate complaint.

Fourth time - just got in touch with Trad Standards- they did a 'test purchase' and were able to prove the problem. It has now been referred to the Home Office by the local Trading Standards department. (as it is a National Company and potentially they could be overcharging many hundreds of customers).

    My advice is-:
-shop somewhere more reliable / with better refund policy
-if still shop there- check receipt
-contact your local trad standards people, reading this thread make me think Morrisons are overcharging a lot of customers, probably most of whom are not aware.
    Often daunted, never defeated!

I was charged twice for a roasting tin in Bolton Morrisons but of course didn't notice until I was on the train back to Manchester. It was "only " 1.99 and it would have cost me more than that to go back to the store so I left it but always check the receipts very carefully now.
