I got mine for £89 from Costco in Chingford a couple of weeks ago. I've used it loads and the chips come out delicious. Obviously nothing is as nice as real chips from the chippy but then its only a fraction of the fat/calories.

As a member of Slimming World, I can indulge my chip desires "syn-free".

I would definitely recommend it - and as it plugs in it is cheaper than switching your oven on to make chips.

I too wanted one of these until I saw all the problems people had on Watchdog the other week with them bursting in to flames due to a fault with the fan..
  • oh, gutted, haven't looked at the report though.

Anybody got one and can tell us how it is?

Yes I've had one for over a year now and it does exactly what it says it does. It's best thing I've ever bought. It does chips to perfection, without that fatty coating that chip-shop chips leaves in your mouth afterwards.
They are crisp & light and taste exactly how chips chould taste. I have sometimes done them with less oil than stated and they are still wonderful.
The centre rotates slowly round turning them over whilst the hot air is blown in and the non-stick dish they are sat in gets hot too.

I would recommend anyone gets one of these. I know they seem expensive at first - but believe me they are well well worth the price whatever you pay. I paid around £129 from Amazon (it was on special offer) when I got mine.
