MBNA credit card hell

Well, here goes for yet another update!
Last month, after making my last post, I did ring MBNA up, and after a lengthy conversation with a fairly understanding lady, they agreed to drop my APR back to what it initially was before the extortionate increase. I was asked about my incomings and as I am not working and only recieiving benefits, they agreed to lower it and do another review in 12 months time. This would take effect from my September statement, but unfortunately they couldn't do anything about my August payment, so I would have to pay the doubled amount. I decided that it would be in my best interests to try and pay it, as all would be fine from September, so therefore borrowed the extra £120.
I felt a massive relief that this was sorted out, and was hoping that something would come in writing, but nothing.
Today, I recieved my September statement and to my horror, it was asking
for over £200! I was expecting it only to be half of that!
I rang them up to ask what was going on, and went through about 3 different depts in all, having to explain everything again and again. Basically I was told that, yes, the APR had decreased to what it had been formerly, but because my phonecall last month was made after the date for which they calculate interest for the following month, then I'd still be paying for the increased APR, but that next month, the lower charges would apply - why the hell wasn't this explained to me last month??! I really was lead to believe that it would happen from September NOT October!
I told them that I'd find it difficult to meet that payment, and as I said, I was then transferred from dept to dept, with the promise that each one, may be able to help me - not a chance. Basically I feel like each person tries to fob you off onto another. I admit, I did get a bit irate, and felt completely worthless as it went on. I'm pretty sure that the last person I spoke to, put me on hold, while I had a mini rant, cos when he came back on, he said the same two sentances that had sent me on that downward spiral. He wanted to transfer me back to a previous dept to see if they could give me a payment plan but of course that it would have an adverse effect on my credit rating!
I know everything has gone crazy in this country with the credit crunch, but I feel like I'm getting terrible treatment. I tried to explain that I've been a good paying customer for years who has never defaulted until this recent spate of increases. I all but begged for help! Surely they can do..something? I really really am feeling so low about this, and just can't see a positive way forward at all.
Is there anyone who can help me...please?0
