Thanks Poppycat - I've had a quick glimpse and it's a great link :T
Some of the detail is a bit beyond me at the moment. I'll have to do some studies - here we go on a learning curve again :rotfl:You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing" Large print giveth - small print taketh away. "0 -
The settings are fairly easy obvious its easier if you have tv in front of you.
I have connected to our tv as follows
HDMI 3 - to pc via hdmi to DVI cable. external sound from pc goes to a amplifier for surround sound (this way I can watch HD movies with ace surround sound or DTS.
Humax pvr to scart and pvr to surround sound amp (we do a lot of recording)
Nintendo wii to component socket
It does everything nice, sure it isnt the high HD 1080p only 720p but its outstanding quality
The tv is easy to set up its got analogue tuner picture quality rubbish on LCD thats goes for all lcds. Freeview just plug aerial in and let it do the search, it doesnt take long.
In fairness I bet most tvs are easy to set up now, but I rather par that bit more for a good tv.
Also tv has a swivel stand a must if you sit in various chairs as lcds havent got a wider viewing that say the old tvs, some tvs are better than others this one is. Its also got a good contrast ratio that mean good black I think lcds tend to suffer compared with old style tvs
I am sure the other models above are just as good0 -
comet have a nice goodmans for £499 - I have last years model and cant fault it at all!0

This sounds a good price but I can't find any reviews or ratings for this Grundig GULCD37HDIV.
Can anyone find any rating/review links? You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing" Large print giveth - small print taketh away. "0 -
No I cant neither, was thinking of buying it myself, lack of reviews put me off, think Tesco used or do stock them.0

Wow. Tommie that's cheap £349.99 inc Freeview etc
But when doing a search for ratings and reviews I can't find any. But it does seem Egypt is OK for hols :rotfl::rotfl:
The spec seems at the cheap end? I can't decide at the mo whether to go to £600 +/- and get a 1008 set. Will the picture be that much better? You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing" Large print giveth - small print taketh away. "0 -

We went to Empire Direct tonight to buy the one in the link, but was not in stock, stood there with credit card burning a hole in my pocket.
