Hank means that unless you are communicating via MSN Messenger you can't use the phone. In short it's not compatable with Skype or any other VOIP system only voice calls via MSN Messenger on a computer.

I got mine a few months ago by mistake, and guess what...... it's sitting in the cupboard too..

But they can be used as standard landlines if you want. The MSN Messenger functionality can be considered just as an added bonus.

Granted, it would have been good if they did Skype too.

    Can you elaborate?
I personally think they are really good, especially for the money.

    what elephant_guy & arronc said!

These were heavily discounted by Amazon (circa October last year).

Seen them in Robert Dyas for just a few quid more.

it speaks volumes (no pun intended) that every retailer that stocks them are having to discount heavily to shift 'em.

Avoid, unless you only have one mate when you can buy him one too (especially if he likes cheap tat & phones with an awful screen)

Not a true voip phone as its only MSN...... you need a SIP phone really and these are around the £100 price level... (and they are not that good yet)

Its a wifi sip phone and gsm moblie, keep meaning to buy one as I use sipgate but money goes elsewhere at the moment:(
