I live on my own with three kids in a small 3 bedroom house. We are average users. I pay £2 a day for my lecky and Gas, thats around £60 a month  with Scottish Power

My lecky is keymeter and my gas a card meter.

can you tell me how much you spend via DD please because i'm hoping to phone S Power up to swap from meter to a DD monthly payment, because £60 a month is a lot of money or is that about right?

£60 per month - is that average or winter?

In any case £60 x 12 is £720 per year which is quite low for your house/family size.

Scottish Power are one of the cheapest suppliers.

What tariff rates are you on?

Are they? Ok then i'll stay with them but i'm hoping that by swapping to DD payments the cost would be cheaper. I don't use that much Gas up during the summer, if anything i pay about £10 a month on Gas in the summer months.

So my usuage is ok then, thats what i wanted to know, thank you

DD is cheaper than paying by card, you need to get out last years bills
find out total and then work out how much you use per month

Worked mine out yesterday based on 9 days usage, over £7 a day, thats on direct debit at current prices with NPower....3 bed detatched, 2 adults and 2 brats.

I was putting on 7 electric and 5 gas a week 2 years ago in a small 3 bedroom, so no with the current increases, I don't think that is high.
One day I might be more organised...........
