This is indeed the case as I myself discovered yesterday. If you say you're a veggie or perhaps don't eat meat or in this case the connotations with it being Beef and maybe a relgious aspect - then a supervisor will get a £5 Voucher:
Food and Drink £5 Gift Voucher - valid from 30 June to 9 July 2005
Redeemable against Food, Drink, Flowers and Plants.
You can use it any M&S store in the UK, Jersey and Guernsey (not outlet stores though). Excludes offers placed online or by phone.
It cannot be exhanged for cash, any other Gift Vouchers, Food Ordering, Flowers Delivery Service, Financial Services or products, or used to pay account or credit card balances.
If less than £5 is spent against this voucher no change will be given.
Hope that helps and enjoy - I know I will.

What M&S need to do is start getting into the out of town market. That way we can all pop down to them without the headache of having to go right into a town centre with all the parking problems as well.0

And use your M and S card to collect points as well

I've just been to Marks and they didn't have any burgers. The cashier said she could give me a ticket so that when they come back in stock I could have them free, I then asked about the £5 food and drink voucher and the supervisor went to see if they had any but they'd run out of them.
The upshot was that she voided a £5 item on my bill.
