Nationwide Fixed Rate Bond rate drop

Hope this is not already posted: I have just nipped into the Nationwide to get their fixed rate bond at 6.50% only to be told that the rate changed at close of business yesterday.
This is confirmed on their website.
This might save a few people a wasted trip...:mad:
