where are all the tips on saving money in this section.#

all i caqn find is info on which breadmaker to buy or other info which does not help me to save money old skool style.

i have seen other forums on frugal living which mention things about buying supermarket branded goods in stead of premium label goods. but none of this here. why?

it seems lots of people are posting threads in the wrong section.

what is more old skool than making your own bread? Or yoghurt, or anything - and moneysaving for that matter. Many of the threads here are about going back to basics, whether doing all your cooking by scratch or by recommending whatever gadgets can enable you to do that while still having a life! I suppose if you want to you could say that bread makers aren't strictly Old Style, but time is money too, and there is no point saving 50p making your own bread if you've used an hour of your valuable time doing it. So yes, bread makers and the like are firmly in the Old Style camp.

You don't have to read all the threads, but maybe you should. I've picked up some FANTASTIC tips and inspiration on here.

  • Money saving old style is exactly that - not buying own brand, but using old fashioned ways of doing things.

Admittedly it is not old style to use a bread maker, but it is a modern take on an old style way of doing things.

I think that yes there are too many threads on breadmakers it has been done to death - over the last 2 years there have been countless threads on breadmakers.

Old style is though also a return to cooking from scratch - which some households rarely do these days - the recipe index is great for that. Also making your own clothes - thread on this page about that, knitting ditto. Stain removal and washing clothes using traditional cheaper more environmental products - ideas all available here.

By all means if you have a topic you don't think is covered and should be - start a thread - I bet is has been covered and your post will be moved to an older thread!

Also since this is this old style board then - school, not some 90's misspelling

Also a point that this site is not necessarily about frugal living as Martin says it is affording the sam elifestyle for less - consumer revenge. I, for one, don't want to live frugally, but have the same or better lifestyle for less. Never done frugal - sorry, like the good things in life too much, but do also want to be more environmentally friendly - which is an essential by product.

:T Hear hear, and don't get me started on the slow-cooker threads. Raveboy, if you want info on baking your own bread by hand check out the indexed collections ;)

Really don't get this comment, surely cleaning with os products, making food from scratch and recipe info with what you have in your cupboards etc. is exactly about being frugal
